All volunteer fire department located in Northeast North Carolina in Currituck County. Our fire distict is primarily a rural area that sits along Route 168 which is the primary roadway for motorist traveling from Virginia and points north to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We operate a primary station at Sligo and two sub-stations (Maple Station and Currituck Station) within our 85 square mile first due response area.
We provide fire protection, fire response, accident response, animal rescue, grain bin rescue, water rescue, medivac landing zones, EMS support, and fire prevention eductation. Our Maple station provides crash response to the Currituck County Regional Airport. Our station at Sligo houses a full time paid medic unit from Currituck County Fire and EMS.
We have been tested and certified with an ISO rating of 4 with method 3, an improvement from our last ISO rating of 5 with method 3, while maintaining 19 apparatuses and 3 stations.
As a 100% volunteer department your dontations go to supplying our firefighters with apparatuses, tools, gear, facilities, etc that in-turn provides citizens of Currituck County fire protetection and response. Dontations are welcomed and greatly appreciated! Us and our families thank you for your continued support!
1st Wednesday of the month 7 P.M. business meeting or last Wednesday of the month 7 P.M. training.
